For studio monitoring, speaker placement and mounting is of the up most importance. Badly mounted and positioned speakers will not give you an accurate representation of your music no matter how good the quality of your monitors. These stands will make your studio monitors sound great and add an element of class to your recording environment.
The stands measure 925mm from the ground (head height when sat in a chair), and the base plate measures 340mm x 340mm. The top plate is fitted with rubber pads to grip the underneath of your speaker and the plate is designed to accommodate a speaker with a base of up to 300mm x 250mm. With a speaker of this size there will be a 40mm overhang all around but will still be very stable due to the stands weight.
The construction is based around a box column design and the stands are made from a 19mm dye impregnated composite material. This material lends itself to studio furniture well due to its heavy density and smooth finish.
The tops of the stands can be removed and four standard dry 2.5” x 4” x 8” house bricks can be inserted in the central column to bring the weight from just under 10kg without bricks to a massive 19.1 kg for each stand. Making this one of the heaviest and most stable monitor stands on the market. Alternatively bags of sand or other ballast can be placed in the central column to increase the final weight.
Instead of the usual spikes, the base plates are fitted with stainless steel and solid brass dome feet. This is so the stands do not damage your floor with the considerable weight when loaded with heavy ballast, while still providing excellent acoustic isolation for your speakers.
